In Vaccination: A Catholic Perspective, Biologist Pamela Acker provides a balanced examination of the whole subject of vaccination from a Catholic perspective which will allow Catholic leaders from the Pope and the Bishops down to parents and teachers to make an informed judgment on proposals to mandate vaccinations for the novel coronavirus or for other infectious diseases.  The author is ideally qualified to undertake this task.  A devout Catholic with a master’s degree in Biology from the Catholic University of America, Pamela worked in the field of vaccine development and has the right combination of knowledge and experience to evaluate the scientific basis for vaccination as currently practiced.  In her book, Miss Acker takes the reader through the history of vaccination while giving a comprehensive introduction to the marvels of the divinely-designed human immune system. Drawing upon the latest research in the field, Miss Acker elucidates the many problematic aspects of vaccination as currently practiced and explains how they flow out of a materialistic, mechanistic, evolution-based understanding of the human person which tends to see man as a collection of parts rather than as a divinely-designed body-soul composite.  With powerful examples she shows how the evolution-based approach to the study of disease has had disastrous consequences for scientific and medical research and has supported the maintenance of inadequate criteria for evaluating the efficacy and the dangers of vaccination as currently practiced.

What a fantastic book!! Any Catholic or Christian should read. For the price it would be a wonderful idea to order two and give one to your Pastor!! Thank you Kolbe Center for standing behind this book and publishing. In a world where our church seems silent you will sure be rewarded by our Heavenly Father for doing your part!!

The book is a very readable yet thorough overview of the topic of vaccines. It is carefully researched with extensive footnotes and references that allow the reader to follow up on any of the information presented.

I first became aware of the author, Pamela Acker, through her interview on COVID vaccines, found at https://rumble.com/vcq539-the-unborn-babies-used-for-vaccine-development-were-alive-at-tissue-extract.html. I was impressed with her knowledge and sound reasoning on both scientific and moral issues, and therefore looked for her book. The book did not disappoint, providing a more in-depth look at the complex topic of vaccination. It is both an excellent resource in itself, and a jumping-off point for further study. I learned a great deal and I highly recommend it.

Much more helpful than previous books on vaccination in the sense that it addresses issues that strictly ‘secular’ vaccine appraisals don’t usually touch, like the negative influence of the ‘evolutionary prejudice’ that drives medicine. That is not to say it offers only appeals based on Catholic cosmology, and in fact most of its arguments would be comprehensible to any reader, for better or worse. Overall it is perfect for parents because it is challenging enough to equip them to address a wide range of ‘angles’ but concise and simple enough to be understood and applied by non-specialists.
